3D printing is nothing new – but what FreeD Printing makes of it is: The start-up has developed a robot-based modelling process that enables completely new modelling strategies. The secret lies in the process head being guided by a six-axis industrial robot.

Benjamin and Michael, what are the advantages of a start-up?
Following a start-up, technologies can be made ready for industrial use and implemented to complete the transfer from research to industry.

What have been the main hurdles in the start-up process?
Since there are no reference applications for our innovative and novel technology, we are looking for cooperation partners to be able to provide proof of market in real applications.

Do you have any tips for you fellow founders?
Founding a company requires a combination of identifying, persevering and taking advantage of the opportunities that present themselves.
