Supportive measures for marketing research findings. Developing creative names for products, brochures, concepts, new medications, methods, and much more can serve as a helpful supportive measure for upcoming or ongoing professional marketing efforts. Trademark law, however, is a highly complex and challenging field.

It can be quite tempting to “just quickly” come up with a name or slogan as a trademark. If you fail to search for prior trademarks or other rights that are identical or similar to your own creation, you risk receiving cease-and-desist letters and facing claims for damages from third parties in the event of careless registration and use. People often try to save money by skipping professional research and reviews, which can ultimately lead to a financial disaster. This is often the case when a trademark can no longer be used due to prior rights, forcing the suspension of all advertising campaigns and promotional materials. To avoid such scenarios, this course will outline the fundamental structure of trademark law and the resulting strategies for action.
